Vow of Retribution by Emma Renshaw Slayed Me

The title says it all. I was instantly drawn into the Emma’s Vow of Retribution within the first couple of pages and she held on with both hands. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the main characters, Savannah and Liam. If there was ever a pair that were made for each other, it is definitely those two. I would definitely read this book over and over again, hands down.

One word of caution however to new readers, if you are sensitive to abuse, this may not be the book for you.

Emma truly is a master at telling a story without putting all the cards on the table. If this had been a game of poker, she’d have one heck of a face. She put enough in each chapter to really draw me into Savannah’s background. With each little clue, I wanted to delve further into what have made this woman become who she was. She really hit me over the head with a hammer with the story, however. Savannah’s story brought me to actual tears as if she was a flesh and blood person.

Emma has a way with words that really made me feel the fireworks of attraction that existed between Liam and Savannah. I spent most of the book feeling very vested in whether they were going to make it or not. The heat between them was intense and the scenes were fairly steamy.

I would love to have the same warrior princess spirit that Emma bestowed upon Savannah in Vow of Retribution. She’s the type of character that so many would love to aspire to be, so strong and capable.

I can’t wait to give this book a second read!
