I’ve never had such a visceral reaction to a book before in my life. Especially not one that even an hour after finishing the book, I am still in such an awestruck haze that I forget what I’m doing. Heart by K.M. Neuhold and Nora Phoenix is just masterful. I could seriously gush and gush and gush over this book (and those of you who are my friends… I apologize in advance) and it would take me weeks to get over it. Seriously. There is so much I want to say about this book, but that would make me blur out the entire review due to spoilers, but I will do my best!
Let’s talk about the main characters for a minute. These guys were all brought to amazing life. They were all so different but came together in spectacular fashion. These three men are guys I didn’t know I was missing in my life (except Mason cause I sort of lived Mason’s story yet the inner dialogue was always my own, not someone else’s). From sexy and sweet to adorably awkward, I just can’t get enough of these three!
That storyline though. What can I say about it without spoiling it? I’ve been trying to think how I would do this but it’s really hard. I loved how they were all brought together to form such a tight unit. Even though it has a ton of words and lots of chapters, it doesn’t seem as long as it is. The story pulls you in, digs those claws in, and won’t let you go for the rest of the read. If Heart was a drug, it would be 100% illegal as it is highly intoxicating and addicting! I can’t wait to read it again and again.
I could not put Heart down. It was a chore to just try to sleep knowing that it was there on my Kindle taunting me. I even took it with me to cook and totally ended up burning my rolls. Oops!
Just one little minor aspect of disappointment. Ladies… PlayStation? Really? Tsk tsk. I was almost ready to deduct some nerd points away for that point, but you redeemed them in epic fashion with the Star Wars Trilogy and game companies. Ok, so this wasn’t a serious point obviously but I couldn’t help it. Insert winking emoji here.
Overall, this read was just awesome and it’s 100% recommended by me. This book is on my top 10 of all time list, indefinitely. Way to go, K.M. And Nora!
One final question remains: When will we see Lucky in those pants?
Note: Even 12 hours later, I am still feeling the emotional effects of this read. It truly was amazing.
Note 2: I was provided an ARC free of charge. All thoughts about the book in this review are strictly my own. My opinion can’t be bought.
